March 26 Racism?Chinese people do speak loudly but the reverse is not true, not all people who speak loudly are Chinese. Yesterday, I went to 900 West Georgia St. Vancouver to pick up my order. While there, some middle aged women were speaking very loud in the shop which wasn't very nice. After they left, the security guy complained about their poor manners. He said "They gave me a headache. Do they think this is a free market in Richmond?" I am Chinese. I know Mandarin and Cantonese and the women there spoke neither. How does the indian or brown security guard know if they are Chinese or not? What should I do? Smile and walk away, or go tell him to shut up? There's too much racism. For the people who shop in fancy places, please behave yourself. You may be rich but you don't have to be loud and let everyone know. Even a security guard guy can laugh at you, no matter how much you contribute to their salary. Pissed off, sad... silent. |
